Enel power station at Castelviero, 2, Fra Giocondo Road – Nervesa della Battaglia (TV), close to the airfield “Francesco Baracca”.
The hydroelectric power plant at Castelviero, which started working in 1930, is a station that uses flowing water coming from the river Piave in its middle section between Fener and Nervesa. It is supplied by an open-air canal that flows along the northern slopes of Mount Montello for about 10 km and 3 km in a tunnel. The penstock, made of steel sheet, has a surface of 147m2 and an inner diameter of 2200 mm. The power station uses a 46-metre water fall and has a nominal capacity of 14 m3/s; the hydraulic machinery consists of a double Francis horizontal axis rotor and the produced power is 5 kwh. The power station at Castelviero has a yearly producibility of about 35 million kwh, which covers the mean yearly energy requirements of 14,000 families (on the basis of a mean yearly consumption of 2,500 kwh).
